Nan, Your tile work has been the inspiration our kitchen needed. Our design of oak, glass, and granite although beautiful and functional was 'brought in from the cold' with your warm and artful vineyard garden theme. We entertain all year long and so many of our friends have remarked that the vines growing from your garden mural backdrop seem to grow the tile-vines that surround the kitchen and set a mood that makes it hard to retire to the living room.

When I saw Nan's work I knew she was the one to refresh the counter top in our turn of the century kitchen . She tramped through the woods, studied the growth on the forest floor, sat in silence while observing the sweep of mountains, sea and sky. The finished product was the result of many conversations, a painting that captured my ideas perfectly, and hours of making tiles into useable art. After more than a year of continuous use, the countertop is as lovely and durable as it was when it was installed.
