kitchen counter and window trimMy intention is to provide excellent work that will completely delight you and compliment your space. The process of working together is inspiring and is intended to be an enjoyable experience for both the client and artist.

Step 1. We meet, either on location or online, to discuss your ideas and the dimensions of the location. At this stage any sources of inspiration are considered. Pictures or paintings, color swatches or fabric samples are all relevant sources for ideas. Looking at the images on this site can be helpful. If we do not meet on location, photos of the space are essential. After our initial meeting I will provide you with an initial sketch offering you a visual idea or ideas and an approximate cost for the project. There will be a design fee if the design time goes over two hours and the client does not choose to proceed.

A deposit of half of the final cost is required at that time. The tiles or work is then laid out in my studio, painted and fired, and then fired again with the final glaze, at which point the full color is revealed. When I am working with homemade tiles the process takes a little longer as the tiles need a slow drying time before painting, glazing and firing.

With your tiles you will receive a key indicating the way the tiles fit together. Each tile is numbered on the back and fits in only one spot in the whole. The tile can be installed by any professional installer or by an individual who has experience. I take responsibility for any breakage of tile in shipping, but not breakage during installation. Final payment is due on receiving the tile or sink that was ordered.

Each project is priced individually according to the complexity of the work. Approximate costs for wall tile is between $100 and $150 per square foot (made of six inch or four inch tiles) Hand made tile is similarly priced. Floor or counter tile is between $60 and $100 per square foot. Sinks prices are between $550 and $750 depending on the size and shape. This includes up to 6 hours design time on projects over $500.
